Burgundy Bean

BURGUNDY BEAN is a relatively new, warm season, short-lived perennial adapted to wide range of soils from sand to heavy clay. This bean has high quality forage, good drought tolerance and performs better under cooler conditions than many of the other tropical legumes. Stands of Burgundy Bean will last 2 to 3 years, and up to 4 years in some rare instances. Burgundy Bean should be sown into a well prepared seedbed at 3 to 5 pounds per acre and at a depth of 1/2 to 1 inch in early to mid Spring when soil temperatures are above 65°F.
