King's Native Grass Mix

King's Native Grass mix is a combination of native grasses that do well in most parts of the state receiving at least 25 inches of rainfall per year. The current mix contains: Little Bluestem, Indiangrass, Sideoats Grama, Catarina Bristlegrass, Green Sprangletop, Blue Grama and Buffalograss. This mix is also known as our "tall native mix" as some species can grow to 4+ feet tall depending on soil type and rainfall. Recommended planting rate is 5 to 10 pounds per acre. This mix is considered to be chaffy and is difficult to broadcast without mixing with a carrier such as cracked corn or sand. The preferred method is to plant with a native grass seed drill at a depth of 1/4 inch or less.
