Cane Bluestem

Cane Bluestem

Cane bluestems ability to grow in extremely dry climates makes it an important plant for both livestock and wildlife. Because it decreases  with overgrazing, its presence in a pasture is an indication of proper grazing techniques.

Can be good forage for livestock. Useful as food and cover for small mammals and upland game birds. Can be used to control erosion.
