A very popular sunflower for game birds that produces seed in 90-120 days. Grows 4-5 feet tall. Provides good cover for hunters while the small, black seed attract dove, quail and turkey. However, deer relish the young plants, so plots planted for birds must be protected.
Planting time: The best time to plant is in the spring.
Planting depth: We recommend planting about 1/2-3/4 inch deep, with a drill seeder if available to ensure consistent planting depth.
