Cool Season Wildlife Food Plots
Cool season loosely refers to the fall and winter. Typically, cool season seeds are planted between September 15 to December 31. These plants are frost tolerant or tolerant of cooler temperatures, which means they prefer to grow when the temperatures drop below 70 degrees.
Mixes create a diversity of nutrition and production, so there will be food available at different times of year. Our two fall food plot blends can be planted either immediately before, or at the start of hunting season to attract deer. Fall food plots offer a supplemental food source for deer and other game during a time of year when most natural vegetation has gone dormant. The combination of plants in these blends are high in protein, which aids in body and antler development.
