Description
White Tridens is a native, warm season perennial bunchgrass that grows 3-5’ tall. It is common throughout most of the state in fine textured soils, often in moist soils or poorly drained areas. It has fair value as forage for livestock and as feed for birds and other wildlife. White tridens is a broadly adapted native grass that is an excellent component of range and reclamation seed mixes in much of the state.
Guadalupe White Tridens was developed by the Texas Native Seeds Program and the USDA NRCS Plant Materials Centers in Texas. It is comprised of a number of collections of White Tridens from various vegetation regions of the state. Guadalupe performs well on a variety of soil types throughout the state. It is typically fast establishing and is very drought hardy.
