Wilson Indiangrass is a native, warm season perennial bunchgrass that grows 5-8’ tall at maturity. It is well adapted to a variety of soil types in the southern half of Texas. It is excellent wildlife cover and produces abundant high quality forage for livestock. Indiangrass is a desirable component of range and wildlife habitat restoration seed mixes, and also makes an attractive ornamental plant Wilson Indiangrass originates from a native population collected in Wilson County, Texas, and was selected for release by the Texas Native Seeds Program and the USDA NRCS South Texas Plant Materials Center. Our Texas Natives are certified “Selected Texas Native Germplasm” by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
