CIBOLO LITTLE BARLEY
Cibolo Little Barley is a native, cool season annual grass that grows less than a foot in height at maturity. Common throughout the state on disturbed sites, it has value for use as a native cool season cover or nurse crop. Forage value of Little Barley for livestock or wildlife is poor, which can make it a good option for temporary winter cover when pasture deferral for small reclamation sites is impractical, or where attracting wildlife is not desired, such as along roadsides or energy right-of-ways.
